Practice description

As a Person -Centred Counsellor, I have worked in Private Practice for 7 years, working within a busy town Therapy Centre, more recently moving to working online with clients.
I can offer appointments during parts of the day, as well as some evenings also. Our initial meeting will discuss ways in which you would like to be supported through counselling, as well as an opportunity to meet each other and see if you feel that I am the right counsellor to work with you. This is an important stage as you consider beginning counselling as each counsellor brings their own personality & training expertise into the counselling relationship. Often the question is asked how long do I need counselling for? Again this is something that can be discussed together and depends on each person’s needs. Initially I would recommend weekly meetings and then reviewing this.

My first session

The first session gives you an opportunity to meet the counsellor and talk through what you would like from counselling, seeing if the counsellor you are meeting feels that they can support you with what you need. This is also true from the counsellor’s perspective too. You may wish to see several counsellors before you decide which one you want to work with.

At the first session if you decide to continue with further sessions then I would give an assessment sheet with some of your details required along with a client/therapist contract and data protection information. We would discuss confidentiality and how we would work together.

Clients I work with

Adults, Children, Older adults, Organisations, Trainees, Young people
